Silent footsteps
Bring me down this hall
It reminds me of a time
When I used to feel so small

I remember that awkward child,
Her love for the human race
She was always smiling and laughing
But the other children spat in her face

Now here I stand before you
I’m not awkward or smiling anymore
But this hallway still reminds me
Of how things were before

Author's Comments

This poem was inspired when I gave an old teacher a call to thank her for every thing she has done for me in the past, she has really stuck her neck out for me and always reminded me I could do whatever the hell I wanted to do, never mind what other people say.
I have followed her advice and so.

I dedicate this poem to Mary Peterson<3
